Co-op election season is almost here! On Sunday, March 28th, we will have our Annual Member Meeting and Board Election and we need your input. The Board of Directors has several open positions available for enthusiastic Owners who want to engage with their Co-op community. Voting for the Board Election will begin in February and extend up until the Annual Meeting.
The deadline for submitting a notice of intent to run and a candidate statement to get on the ballot is February 12th.
What does it look like to be on the board?
Board members support the mission and long-term strategic goals of the co-op. To accomplish this important work, Board members serve on various committees to engage with the Co-op membership, determine and monitor the Co-op’s strategic direction, and plan for the development and deepening of our cooperative in service to our community.
Other perks of serving on the Co-op Board include: hanging out with awesome community members, great snacks at meetings and retreats, saving money with the Board discount, and opportunities for professional development. This is a great opportunity to get involved and contribute your unique talents and voice to the future of our co-op!
To be eligible to run you must be a Co-op Owner in good standing (you don’t have to be paid in full, just current on your equity payments) and care about supporting our Co-op in the quest to make the world a better place.
Time commitment: 4-8 hours a month depending on committee work and time of year. Board meetings are quarterly and sub-committees generally meet monthly.
